Though his name might not be widely recognized, Aaron Levine’s influence in fashion is undeniable. Over the past 25 years, Levine has helped redefine major retail brands like Club Monaco and Abercrombie & Fitch, bringing a fresh perspective that revitalized their appeal.
One of his most notable achievements was restoring Abercrombie & Fitch’s cultural and commercial relevance. Since leaving the company in 2021, Levine has stayed active in the industry, taking on consulting roles for popular brands like Aimé Leon Dore and Madewell.
By the close of 2024, however, Levine decided to fully channel his passion into a venture of his own: launching a personal clothing label.
“I’ve been doing this for over two decades and I genuinely love it,” Levine shared with Highsnobiety. “This is what I’m meant to do. I don’t play music or paint — this is my art. This is my expression.”
From his studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Levine introduces Aaron Levine NY, a menswear brand centered on top-tier fabrics, thoughtful tailoring, and everyday functionality.
The debut pieces include rich flannels, wool suits, chore jackets, and timeless cargos — all crafted in the United States with luxurious Italian materials. Levine describes the aesthetic as, “Workwear, outdoor, country living, prep, surf shop culture … all filtered through a tailored lens.”
He explains, “I’m always hunting for specific pieces that serve multiple uses, and what I want isn’t usually out there. If I’m looking for it, someone else might be too. And if they aren’t yet, maybe they’ll realize they were once they try what we’re making.”
Styled impeccably in the label’s first lookbook, Aaron Levine NY delivers enduring wardrobe staples that prioritize both style and practicality. The pricing reflects a balance between high-end quality and everyday accessibility.
Among Levine’s creative circle, familiar faces like model Erin Wasson, comedian Kareem Rahma, and writer Jalil Johnson can be seen wearing pieces from the collection. Levine himself also models the garments — a natural choice, as these are the clothes he lives in.
“We’re creating well-made, easy-to-wear pieces that make me feel good when I wear them,” Levine says. “It’s quality clothing that enhances how people look and feel — without trying too hard or shouting about it. And that’s harder to pull off than it seems.”
With the launch of Season 1.0 available soon via the brand’s website, Aaron Levine NY offers fashion fans a direct line to the designer whose taste has long guided the wardrobes of many, even if they didn’t know it.
“If not now, when?” Levine says, reflecting on the timing of this leap. “I’m getting older, and I need to do this — even if just for the sake of love and fulfillment. There’s always room for more conversation, more music. I love this work, and now is the time.”
