Jason Momoa Blends Sustainability and Style in Eco-Conscious Fashion Ventures

by Demos

Jason Momoa’s journey in the spotlight has consistently blended a rugged masculinity with a strong commitment to environmental activism. From surfing the waves as Aquaman to standing against unlawful construction on sacred Hawaiian grounds, Momoa has made his voice clear. Yet, it’s his clothing line that perhaps most intimately expresses his environmental mission. Rooted in his deep connection with nature and passion for sustainable living, the brand is about more than aesthetics—it’s a statement of purpose.

In partnership with So iLL, a company known for climbing gear, Momoa introduced the On the Roam collection. This product line caters to outdoor enthusiasts and includes items such as chalk bags, backpacks crafted from recycled plastic bottles, and vegan sneakers made with organic cotton, cork, BLOOM™ algae-based foam, and biodegradable soles.

But this isn’t just another nod to eco-friendly fashion. Momoa himself put the gear to the test on real climbing routes—from attic setups to rugged coastlines—ensuring each product is as functional as it is stylish. The designs carry his personal touch, with tattoo-inspired artwork and earthy color schemes that reflect his signature style: bold, grounded, and nature-centric.

Another noteworthy venture is Momoa’s Aloha J by Da Hui, created in collaboration with Da Hui, a brand deeply connected to Hawaii’s surf scene. This line focuses on versatile apparel like pants and shorts suitable for both climbing and surfing. Produced in U.S.–based facilities using sustainable fabrics, the line stays true to its environmental and cultural commitments. According to The Star Advertiser, a portion of the proceeds is donated to Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, supporting initiatives like reef protection and coastal cleanups.

Personalization remains a core theme throughout the collection. Many items display minimalist logos drawn from Momoa’s own tattoo designs and artwork, embedding a distinctly Hawaiian identity into each piece. Buyers of the collection not only wear Momoa’s values—they actively contribute to marine conservation.

Beyond fashion, Momoa’s commitment to the planet extends into other projects. He founded Mananalu, a bottled water company that uses recyclable aluminum packaging to combat single-use plastic waste, as highlighted by The Ethos. In collaboration with Humble, he also launched a deodorant line made from natural ingredients and packaged in biodegradable paper tubes. Proceeds from this partnership help support marine conservation efforts.

Altogether, these initiatives highlight a consistent and impactful message: sustainable choices in everyday life can drive real change. Jason Momoa isn’t just promoting a fashion label—he’s nurturing a planet-first lifestyle ecosystem.
