Columbia Fashion Week is once again joining forces with Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina to present Thrift the Runway: Threads of Change, a one-of-a-kind fashion event that is free to the public.
Set to take place on Saturday, June 28 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Goodwill store in Lexington (4708 Sunset Blvd.), the event aims to spotlight themes of sustainability, creativity, and the transformative power of second chances.
What makes this fashion show truly unique is its exclusive use of thrifted clothing. Styled by Columbia Fashion Week’s own style team, all outfits featured on the runway will be sourced from local Goodwill stores. The showcase is designed to demonstrate how secondhand clothing can be artfully repurposed into stylish and meaningful fashion statements.
“Thrift the Runway is more than just a fashion show—it’s a community moment,” said Juliette Muller, CEO of Columbia Fashion Week. “We’re using style to start conversations—about sustainability, about supporting our neighbors, and about seeing potential where others might not. We’re honored to collaborate with Goodwill to bring that vision to life.”
The event invites the public to not only enjoy a fashion-forward afternoon but also to engage with the broader mission of sustainable living and social impact.
