Queensland-based clothing label Pina Colada has opened its latest store at Nambour Plaza, offering local women access to its signature range of stylish, comfortable fashion made from breathable natural fabrics.
Known for its vibrant colors and relaxed designs, Pina Colada Clothing was launched in 2020 by Bernadene Ey. The brand has steadily grown to include seven stores between Bribie Island and Gympie. With a clear focus on catering to Queensland’s unique climate and laid-back lifestyle, the label continues to gain popularity—especially among those shopping for holidays and cruise wear.
“I think the secret is that our range is designed in Queensland, for Queensland women,” said founder Bernadene Ey. “My clothing only uses natural fibres, relaxed fit and comfortable styles that are perfect for our climate and lifestyle, and are extremely popular for holidays and cruising.”
Bernadene brings over two decades of experience in the fashion industry to her brand and remains hands-on in both designing and manufacturing the clothing line. “I currently employ 17 women across my stores and another 30 women overseas,” she noted.
With the new Nambour Plaza location now open, Bernadene and her team are eager to welcome local shoppers and introduce them to the brand’s range. “All of our clothing is mix and match, and we also sell accessories and comfortable shoes,” she said. “I think women love our range because I have kept it at a very affordable price point. My staff love to help our customers put together beautiful, comfortable and stylish outfits that will carry them through every occasion without breaking the bank.”
At a time when many large retailers are facing financial strain or closing their doors, the success of Pina Colada stands out as a positive example of small business resilience and community-driven retail.
“In the end, I think it comes down to having a product that our customers love, and taking care of them with excellent service,” Bernadene said. “We are really looking forward to meeting lots of local women, and helping them find clothing that they will love.”
Pina Colada is now officially open at Nambour Plaza.
