Emporio Armani and Our Legacy Reunite for a Sun-Drenched, Elegant SS25 Menswear Collaboration

by Demos

Emporio Armani and Swedish fashion label Our Legacy have reunited for a second collaborative menswear collection, following their acclaimed partnership in 2023. This new offering for Spring-Summer 2025 blends Emporio Armani’s Italian tailoring legacy with the modern, understated elegance that has defined Our Legacy’s cult status in menswear.

Jockum Hallin, co-founder of Our Legacy, reflected on the strengthened bond between the two brands. “A partnership is like a relationship—when you know each other, everything becomes easier,” he noted. Hallin also revealed that his co-founder and creative director, Cristopher Nying, aimed to explore new creative ground, including the addition of womenswear. Despite being a significant departure, Emporio Armani showed full trust and support in the endeavor.

Like the previous collection, the new line draws heavily from Emporio Armani’s rich archives. However, this time it evokes a lighter, sun-soaked ambiance—ideal for the French Riviera or a summer escape to Taormina or Positano. The fabrics are faithful reproductions of vintage Armani textiles, exclusively revived for this collaboration.

According to Hallin, the previous collection’s success provided the confidence to delve deeper into classic Armani staples such as tailoring, overcoats, shirts, and leather pieces. He described the SS25 line as the “perfect summer version” of their initial joint collection.

The new collection also features distinct East Asian influences. A standout piece, the Toga Coat, takes inspiration from the Japanese kimono and serves as the conceptual foundation. Additional garments like the collarless Sciovolo Shirt and the relaxed Ampolla Blazer share a similar design ethos.

Hallin explained that the team referenced historical East Asian elements often seen in Armani’s past works and merged them with a retreat-style wardrobe aesthetic. The intention was to craft garments that fit a luxurious, slow-paced vacation—something akin to what Giorgio Armani himself might wear during summer stays in Pantelleria, where the campaign, shot by Alasdair McLellan, was photographed.

The SS25 capsule includes hotel-inspired leisurewear such as bathrobes, slippers, loafers, short-sleeve shirts, elastic-waist trousers, and versatile hoodies. As a whimsical touch, the collaboration even includes a branded deck of cards—ideal for long afternoons by the beach.

For Hallin and Nying, this collaboration is particularly meaningful. In 2023, Hallin recalled to GQ how Armani once symbolized ultimate success and refined taste—a dream far removed from their Stockholm origins. Their second collection together represents what Hallin describes as a kind of Italian homecoming: “Full of people, full of energy. A beautiful world for us reserved Stockholmers to step into.”

The Emporio Armani x Our Legacy Work Shop Spring-Summer 2025 collection will be available beginning May 16 through Our Legacy’s retail channels and select stockists, including Mr Porter and SSENSE. The launch will be celebrated with a dedicated installation at Armani/Manzoni in Milan and special presentations at Dover Street Market locations in London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and Ginza.
