Oysho Becomes New Headline Sponsor of Cardiff Half Marathon 2025

by Demos

Oysho, a global sport and leisure apparel brand, has been officially announced as the new headline sponsor of the Cardiff Half Marathon, stepping into the role previously held by Principality Building Society.

Set to take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, the race will once again transform the Welsh capital into a bustling hub for runners. Organised by Run 4 Wales (R4W), the Cardiff Half Marathon is the largest mass participation event in Wales and ranks among Europe’s biggest half marathons, consistently drawing over 27,500 runners.

This sponsorship marks Oysho’s first official partnership with a UK-based sporting event. The brand’s involvement comes at a time of increasing international recognition, bolstered by the race’s inclusion in the SuperHalfs Series—a prestigious set of six races that also includes Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, and Valencia.

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at R4W, welcomed the new partnership, highlighting its alignment with the event’s mission. “Oysho has a huge international footprint and is becoming increasingly popular in the UK with the opening of its London stores and twice-weekly run clubs,” said Newman.

“With its commitment to health, fitness and running, Oysho is a perfect fit for the Cardiff Half, which is dedicated to inspiring people to get active and seeing more people than ever join in from overseas.

“We’re really excited to have crossed the starting line of this new partnership and to see what this new chapter for the Oysho Cardiff Half Marathon brings to both the race and the city.”

Founded in 2001 and based in Barcelona, Oysho is part of the Inditex Group and has a presence in more than 220 markets, including France, Spain, Italy, Dubai, China, and the UK. The brand is known for its technical sportswear lines designed for disciplines such as running, yoga, pilates, barre, and general fitness. Beyond its product offerings, Oysho also supports community health through initiatives like local fitness classes, running clubs, and its Oysho Training app.

Participants in the 2025 Cardiff Half Marathon will receive a specially designed technical race-day t-shirt courtesy of Oysho. Although general entries for the event sold out within just 12 hours, limited spots are still available through official charity partners, tour operators, and the Business Challenge packages.
