The global menswear industry is setting its sights on Florence as the 108th edition of Pitti Uomo gets ready to unfold at Fortezza da Basso. From June 17 to 20, the iconic biannual men’s fashion fair will showcase Spring/Summer 2026 collections from over 730 brands, turning the venue into a sprawling, exhibition-style trade show filled with fresh ideas, collaborations, and forward-thinking fashion.
Among this year’s most anticipated highlights is the participation of Children of the Discordance, the Japanese menswear brand helmed by Hideaki Shikama. The label is scheduled to present a runway show on June 17 as a “Special Event” in collaboration with the Japan Fashion Week Organization.
The lineup of runway showcases will also feature notable names such as Homme Plissé Issey Miyake as guest of honor, alongside guest designers PAF (Post Archive Faction) and Niccolò Pasqualetti.
Shikama expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to return to Pitti Uomo:
“I’ve been part of the Pitti community since I won the Tokyo Fashion Award about eight years ago, and I am very grateful to be able to come back and present my collection for the first time in five years. This is the event that helped me grow my network of business partners.”
He also highlighted the cultural roots of his design philosophy:
“My clothes are inspired by all the culture I experienced growing up in the Japanese port city of Yokohama. I try to weave that cultural essence into every piece. My goal is to create garments that are truly unique, and I remain committed to that pursuit every day.”
Francesca Tacconi, Special Events Coordinator at Pitti Immagine, praised the brand’s return:
“Children of the Discordance is one of the brands we’ve followed closely for several seasons since its debut at Pitti Uomo through the Tokyo Fashion Award. We admire Hideaki Shikama’s independent spirit and the calm confidence with which he fuses archival influences and streetwear energy into a progressive design approach.”
Fashion insiders and enthusiasts alike are encouraged to stay tuned for Children of the Discordance’s runway show on June 17 — an event set to blend cultural depth, street-inspired aesthetics, and innovative craftsmanship at Pitti Uomo 108.
