Chanel has once again confirmed it has no plans to create a dedicated menswear line. CEO Leena Nair made the brand’s position clear, stating, “It’s going to be the same answer: no, we are not planning to enter men’s.” This statement puts an end to ongoing industry speculation about whether the luxury house might expand into menswear.
Despite Chanel’s firm stance, men across the globe continue to integrate the label’s iconic pieces into their everyday style. Items such as sneakers, tweed jackets, and quilted crossbody bags have all found a place in men’s wardrobes, demonstrating the brand’s growing unisex appeal.
Chanel has never officially released a full menswear collection, though men have long appeared in its fashion shows and advertising campaigns—either as brand ambassadors or as models wearing select pieces. Even without a designated men’s line, the brand’s aesthetic continues to attract stylish male clientele.
The possibility of a Chanel menswear line seemed plausible in 2024, when the house was briefly without a creative director. Industry rumors even suggested Hedi Slimane—known for launching menswear at Celine and transforming Dior Homme—might take the helm. If that had happened, a menswear expansion might have been likely. However, the position ultimately went to Matthieu Blazy, closing that chapter of speculation.
Once considered exclusively feminine, Chanel’s hallmark design features have become more broadly embraced as gender norms in fashion continue to evolve. Classic tailoring and clean lines transcend gender, allowing many of the brand’s silhouettes to seamlessly align with modern, fluid styles of dressing.
Men interested in Chanel do have some tailored options. The Boy de Chanel beauty line, created specifically for male consumers, demonstrates the brand’s selective inclusivity. Additionally, Chanel’s fragrance and watch collections provide entry points for men who want to engage with the brand, even if a full menswear line remains off the table.
Although Chanel may not be offering a menswear collection anytime soon, men are clearly carving out their own space within the brand’s universe—proving that Chanel’s influence knows no gender boundaries.
