A new name in British outdoor clothing, TorraMór, has emerged from the rugged hills above Dunkeld in Highland Perthshire. Founded in 2021 by husband-and-wife farmers Jane and Alexander Brewster, the brand was created out of a practical need for durable, high-performance wet weather gear suitable for their team working on their family farm.
Alexander Brewster, co-founder of TorraMór, shared the inspiration behind the brand’s launch:
“As regenerative farmers, our impact on the land and ecosystem is at the heart of everything we do. When we couldn’t find suitable gear that wasn’t imported from overseas, we decided to create our own. That’s when we began designing and testing jackets, smocks, and over trousers that are 100% made in Britain.”
Every piece in the TorraMór collection has undergone extensive field testing through all weather conditions and seasons to ensure durability and comfort. Brewster emphasized the brand’s commitment to both performance and heritage:
“Our outdoor clothing is designed for high-quality performance, suitable for diverse terrains and built to last across multiple seasons. Inspired by the British countryside and made with innovative British materials, our garments reflect the pride we have in our landscape.”
He added, “With modern ergonomic styles and thoughtful design, we aim to be a dependable brand for everyone. We believe your lifestyle should know no limits—and your clothing should support that.”
The TorraMór product range continues to expand. It now includes wool-filled gilets, which are manufactured just 60 miles from the Brewsters’ farm. These gilets are insulated with natural wool—an eco-friendly and effective material for retaining warmth.
The brand also offers fleece smocks, outdoor accessories, and has more innovative items in development.
With their commitment to local production, sustainability, and quality craftsmanship, TorraMór is quickly positioning itself as a standout name in British outdoor apparel—rooted deeply in both the land and values from which it was born.
