Chanel Confirms It Won’t Launch Menswear Despite Ongoing Rumors

by Demos

Chanel has officially shut down speculation about entering the menswear market. In a recent interview with Vogue, the luxury brand’s global CEO Leena Nair and CFO Philippe Blondiaux confirmed that Chanel has no plans to expand into men’s fashion.

The rumors had gained momentum following the appointment of Matthieu Blazy—who previously designed both menswear and womenswear at Bottega Veneta—as Chanel’s new artistic director last winter. They intensified further with the release of the brand’s latest eyewear campaign featuring Kendrick Lamar and sightings of Chanel worn by celebrities like Timothée Chalamet.

Addressing the speculation directly, Nair stated, “It’s going to be the same answer: no, we are not planning to enter men’s. But I’m very happy when I see men all over the world wearing Chanel.”

During the interview, Nair and Blondiaux also discussed the company’s financial performance, revealing a 4.3% decrease in revenue for 2024. They touched on Chanel’s traditionally biannual price increases in March and September, confirming that this year’s adjustments will be paused due to the uncertainty surrounding U.S.–Europe tariff negotiations.
