Louis Vuitton brought its Cruise 2026 collection to life this week in Avignon, France, setting the stage at the historic Cour d’Honneur of the Palais des Papes—a venue best known for hosting the city’s renowned theater festival. The setting underscored the brand’s emphasis on theatricality and artistic expression, as creative director Nicolas Ghesquière unveiled a collection steeped in medieval allure infused with futuristic elements.
Ghesquière’s designs embraced the idea of transformation through fashion, presenting pieces that ranged from texture-blocked coats and sweeping tiered dresses to intricately woven jacquard jacket and skirt sets. These garments featured a rich blend of regal and retro accents, highlighted by colorful metallic trims, circular cutouts, sequined floral motifs, and flame-like patterns. The ensemble of textures and shapes served as a tribute to both history and modernity, reflecting a continuous dialogue between past and future.
The footwear added to the spectacle, with open-toed booties embellished in gleaming mirrors and crystals, along with boots studded with eyelets and an assortment of ballet flats designed with cutouts and metallic finishes. The overall collection displayed Louis Vuitton’s signature craftsmanship while embracing a bold, imaginative aesthetic.
Enhancing the sense of drama and luxury, the velvet-draped front row welcomed a constellation of celebrity guests. Among them were Emma Stone, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Sophie Turner, Shay Mitchell, Saoirse Ronan, Hoyeon, Alicia Vikander, Jaden Smith, Este Haim, and Danielle Haim. Their presence added a layer of star-studded glamour to the already opulent presentation, reinforcing Louis Vuitton’s reputation for merging fashion with culture and performance on the global stage.
