High street fashion giant Gap has been experiencing a notable revival. With Zac Posen leading as creative director, the brand has launched its stylish GapStudio and dressed major celebrities such as Anne Hathaway and Timothée Chalamet. Yet, it was Gap’s collaboration with the effortlessly chic California label Dôen that truly rekindled enthusiasm among fashion aficionados. Known for its ethereal dresses typically priced around £300, Dôen’s partnership with Gap made their romantic aesthetic more accessible. The initial collection sold out rapidly, signaling the powerful appeal of this union.
Following the overwhelming demand and success of the first collection, the Gap x Dôen collaboration is back for summer 2025. The new drop continues the dreamy, laid-back sensibility that made the original so beloved. The collection revisits and reimagines best-selling silhouettes, including smocked babydoll cuts and printed midi dresses, staying true to Dôen’s hallmark feminine style. Despite seeming worlds apart, both brands share a philosophy of effortless fashion — Gap with its classic denim and flattering basics, and Dôen with its soft, romantic silhouettes. Dôen co-founder and CEO Margaret Kleveland emphasized their shared vision, noting the seamless blend of timelessness and femininity in the partnership.
This second capsule also expands its reach with the introduction of menswear and clothing for babies and toddlers. Comprising 32 items, the collection is a study in summer-ready style, embracing a coastal-inspired color scheme, gingham prints, nautical stripes, and denim — a nod to Gap’s iconic material. With garments that evoke both beachside ease and polished refinement, the lineup offers something for nearly every summer occasion.
The latest Gap x Dôen collection debuted in the United States last month and will be available in the United Kingdom starting Thursday, 22 May at 9 a.m. It can be purchased online or in-store, though shoppers are advised to act quickly as many items have already sold out in the U.S. market.
Prices for the collaboration range from £25 to £180. Sweatshirts are priced around £60, midi dresses fall between £120 and £180, mini dresses are tagged at £80, and jackets at £85. On the menswear side, shirts cost approximately £65, while T-shirts are offered at £50.
Among the standout pieces, the gingham midi dress is expected to emerge as a favorite due to its timeless appeal and easy wear. The denim mini dress also draws attention with its stylish sailor neckline. Another key piece is a red pointelle knit blouse, ideal for dressing up jeans and flats with minimal effort. For events such as weddings or holidays, the blue ditsy floral shirred midi dress pays homage to some of Dôen’s most loved designs, while a red babydoll dress offers a no-fuss solution for warm weather style.
With Gap and Dôen continuing to fuse their distinct yet complementary styles, the 2025 collection reaffirms the appeal of high-low collaborations that offer both quality and charm at more accessible prices.
