Christian Wilkins and Lucia Hawley turned heads at Australian Fashion Week on Wednesday as they showcased strikingly similar denim ensembles on Day Three of the event. The media personalities both made their way to the Aje runway show at the Pier Pavilion in Barangaroo, Sydney, each sporting baby blue denim outfits that set a fashionable tone for the occasion.
Christian, 30, the son of Nine Entertainment editor Richard Wilkins, embraced a full denim look from Aje. He wore a button-up shirt, left unbuttoned to reveal his muscular chest, and tucked it into a pair of matching blue jeans. To top off his outfit, Christian donned a maxi dress that he wore unbuttoned as a coat, adding a unique twist to his denim ensemble. He accessorized with blue boots, a gold medallion necklace, and tinted designer sunglasses, completing his bold and stylish appearance.
Lucia, 27, niece of Australian actress Nicole Kidman, also embraced a baby blue denim-inspired look for the event. She showed off her legs in a short dress from Aje, featuring a pleated skirt and a cotton material that gave off a denim appearance due to its button-down design and structured cut. Lucia paired the dress with black knee-high boots, matching her accessories with a black handbag and sunglasses. She kept her makeup minimal and styled her dark hair neatly tucked behind her ears, exuding effortless chic.
Lucia’s appearance at Australian Fashion Week comes on the heels of her announcement that she is moving to London to pursue her dreams in journalism. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph earlier this month, she expressed her excitement about following in her mother, Antonia Kidman’s, footsteps and chasing her artistic passion for writing.
“I have been keeping a journal since I was 10-years-old. I think it’s pretty competitive in London in the media space, but I’m going for the experience,” she said. “So hopefully I’ll land a job in media over there either writing or in broadcast.” Lucia shared that she’s already begun reaching out to editors, with some responding positively to her cold emails.
In addition to her career pursuits, Lucia said she is excited to be “a little closer to my aunty and cousins,” referencing her aunt Nicole Kidman, who resides in Nashville. The move to London brings Lucia much closer to her family in the UK, which she described as a real comfort.
Lucia is making the move with her boyfriend, Henry Poole, and noted that she has always felt a strong pull towards London. She is also adamant about not being labeled a “nepo baby,” despite her famous family connections. When questioned about her success in the media industry, she told the Sunday Telegraph in 2023, “No, I’ve been working towards this.”
As both Christian and Lucia showcased their impeccable fashion sense at AFW, they also highlighted their distinct paths to success, making their similar denim looks all the more striking.
