June 20, 1975, marked the debut of the legendary film Jaws, a cultural phenomenon that not only thrilled audiences but also launched the career of director Steven Spielberg. Nearly fifty years later, the shark-themed blockbuster remains iconic—and now, a well-known clothing brand is paying tribute.
Vineyard Vines, the coastal-inspired fashion company founded by brothers Shep and Ian Murray, is releasing a special, limited-time collection in honor of Jaws’ 50th anniversary.
According to Dan Berthiaume of Chain Store Age, “The coastal-themed apparel brand is collaborating with Universal Products & Experiences to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1975 summer blockbuster film Jaws. An exclusive Jaws Vineyard Vines collection includes a range of iconic apparel and accessories for men, women and kids featuring short- and long-sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts, polos and hats.”
The brand teased the launch with a short video clip on its X account, building anticipation among fans.
Shep Murray also shared a personal connection to the film’s origins. “I was just a kid and Ian was born only a few months later when Steven Spielberg came to Martha’s Vineyard to film Jaws in the summer of ’74. Some of our closest family friends were part of the production, and the stories that came out of it are still legendary. We’re excited to celebrate the anniversary of this iconic film with a collection that captures its legacy,” Murray told Chain Store Age.
The collection, already available on the Vineyard Vines website, includes T-shirts, hats, bathing suits, and other summer-ready gear. With the 50th anniversary fast approaching, these pieces are poised to become unique collector’s items for fans of the film and the brand.
Vineyard Vines is no stranger to anniversary collaborations. The brand previously launched a limited-edition collection celebrating the Grateful Dead’s 60th anniversary.
