Folk Clothing Marks 25th Anniversary with Creative Collaborations and Community Support

by Demos

British fashion label Folk Clothing is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a year-long series of creative initiatives and community-focused projects that reflect the brand’s ethos of craftsmanship, curiosity, and collaboration.

Known for its elevated ready-to-wear pieces, shoes, and accessories, Folk began its milestone celebration in late April with the release of a special capsule collection. The lineup draws from the brand’s archive, offering updated takes on classic designs. Highlights include chore-style coats crafted from reworked washed denim and other reimagined staples. The collection features a wide price range, from $28 for socks to $400 for a refined linen blazer.

As part of the anniversary, Folk also partnered with five innovative artists—illustrator Joey Yu, glassblower Jochen Holz, ceramicist Ali Lousada, artist Aaron Kudi, and weaver Dalia James. Each creative was invited to produce a unique piece of art inspired by pencils, chosen as a symbolic tool that represents the beginning of the creative process.

“For us, many good ideas start with putting pencil to paper,” said a representative of the brand. “With creativity and curiosity at the heart of our story, the pencil becomes the symbol of our 25th anniversary celebrations — a tool for sketching, scribbling, refining and redefining what’s possible.”

The pencil-themed artworks will be showcased in an exhibition this month and auctioned off, with all proceeds supporting a new initiative: a series of short-course bursaries funded by Folk. These bursaries aim to support emerging creatives by giving them access to educational opportunities. Folk will announce the opening of the application process on its social media platforms. Interested applicants will be invited to submit an original artwork as part of the selection process.

Continuing its commitment to creative development, Folk is also introducing an artist residency program at its Eastcastle store. The program will launch with a six-month residency by illustrator Joey Yu. Once her residency concludes, applications for the next cycle will open, providing more artists a chance to engage with the brand in a dedicated creative space.

By tying its anniversary celebration to artistic collaboration and community engagement, Folk Clothing is honoring its legacy while looking forward to inspiring the next generation of designers and makers.
