British luxury womenswear brand ME+EM has officially opened its first Dallas boutique at NorthPark Center, marking its fourth physical store in North America. The expansion follows the successful launch of three ME+EM locations in New York and is part of a broader push to bring the brand’s unique blend of British craftsmanship and American design to U.S. shoppers.
Founded in 2009 by Clare Hornby, ME+EM was born out of a simple but powerful idea: stylish, high-quality clothing should be accessible without compromising on cost or function. Hornby’s early career at London’s Harrod’s inspired her vision after realizing many quality pieces remained unaffordable—even with an employee discount.
This revelation led her to establish a brand focused on “flattering, functional, forever clothes at a fair price.” Early on, Hornby embraced a direct-to-consumer model as the most effective way to offer quality clothing at accessible prices, noting, “It was the only way to get the price right.”
In its new Dallas store, customers can browse a curated monthly collection of wardrobe essentials—ranging from luxurious 100% silk dresses and soft cashmere knitwear to ME+EM’s signature side stripe trousers. So far, the Dallas location is outperforming expectations, reflecting both strategic planning and strong demand.
“Customer strategy is my favorite part,” Hornby explains, revealing that data indicated Dallas as a prime location. “Dallas women are busy and travel a lot,” she adds, emphasizing how ME+EM’s designs support women with packed schedules and stylish needs.
Despite running a luxury fashion label, Hornby jokes that she’s “the least fashion-y person in fashion.” Still, she brings a clear vision to the brand—championing ideas like texture clashing, high-low styling, masculine-feminine fusion, “sporty-smart” combinations, and bold color play. “Trousers are the draw, and then people build an outfit around that,” she notes.
Hornby emphasizes the brand’s meticulous attention to detail: “We obsess over details and tailoring, and we genuinely care about clothes that will be a solution in your life.”
The ME+EM brand has drawn a notable celebrity following that includes British Royal Family members, Katie Holmes, Margot Robbie, Lupita Nyong’o, Olivia Colman, and Helen Mirren.
The new 2,245-square-foot boutique was designed by U.S.-based architecture and interior design firm Janson Scuro and is located on the entrance level of NorthPark Center. In addition to the Dallas location, ME+EM also operates stores in London, Edinburgh, and New York.
