Pride With Purpose: 2025 Collections Supporting the LGBTQIA+ Community

by Demos

Pride Month began in 1999 when President Bill Clinton issued a federal proclamation declaring June as “Gay and Lesbian Pride Month.” He encouraged all Americans to celebrate the diversity of the nation and honor the contributions of gay and lesbian individuals. The month was later expanded by Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden to include a broader spectrum of queer identities.

As Pride Month has evolved, brands have increasingly used their platforms to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community through dedicated products and marketing campaigns. These initiatives not only reflect the community’s strides toward inclusion and equality but also highlight the growing representation of diverse gender identities and people of color within the queer spectrum.

Levi’s ‘Meet You In the Park’ Pride Collection

Advertisements

Levi’s 2025 Pride collection, titled “Meet You In The Park,” celebrates queer joy and safe spaces. The line draws from queer liberation iconography and community gathering traditions, incorporating historic symbols like the pink triangle—reclaimed in the 1970s as a powerful sign of resistance and pride. The Levi’s design team worked alongside the GLBT Historical Society’s archives to ensure historical authenticity.

Standout pieces in the collection include the Pride One Family Trucker Jacket, Community Tee, and Pride Retro Mesh Tee. A special edition of embroidered patches and stamps, designed in collaboration with San Francisco tattoo artist José Luis Sanabria, will be available exclusively at Levi’s Tailor Shops beginning June 1.

The campaign features personalities such as country musician Shayne Gottlieb; artist Nora Foss; Malia Spanyol, owner of San Francisco queer bar Mother; Sadyr Diouf, a DJ and actor; and Alicia Sadler, a creative director and filmmaker. Levi’s continues its support for LGBTQIA+ rights through an annual $100,000 donation to Outright International, a global human rights organization.
